About Card Game Shelf
Card Game Shelf helps English-speaking readers identify a card game and find a useful starting point for learning it. This collection covers five games beginning with M. It does not host online games or claim to be a complete A–Z directory.
How we check information
We prioritize publishers' rulebooks, primary group rules and specialist game references. We compare key facts where possible, retain the edition or format, and label information that only has one reliable authority.
Magic's listing uses three pages from one publisher, not independent sources. Mau Mau's selected 2–5 player range comes from one specialist site. Mao's numeric player count remains unverified, so it does not appear in a numbered player filter.
What our quick rules cover
Our short guides introduce the players, cards, goal, setup, turn, winning conditions and significant variants. They are original summaries, not replacement rulebooks. Mao is an introduction to a tradition with hidden rules; its page cannot teach every group's rules. Munchkin and Magic currently link to publisher guides rather than full guides here.
Corrections and limitations
Sources were checked on 17 October 2026. A checked source is not a claim that we physically play-tested the games. Edition differences and house rules can change the answer. For corrections or questions, email contact@cardgameshelf.com. Include the page and the rule version you mean.
Independence and rights
This is an independent editorial project, not an official publisher website. Game names and trademarks belong to their owners. We do not reproduce card art, game images, rulebook scans or publisher text. There are no paid rankings, affiliate links or ads.
